Intro to Body Contact

This clinic, designed to introduce your child to body checking in a non-intimidating way. Specifically created for first-time checkers who will be entering full-contact hockey this upcoming season or just completed a season in full-contact hockey.

Registration is first-come-first-served. Limited to only 40 players.

What you’ll learn

The clinic and it’s purpose is to teach the players the basics of how to receive and give a check and how to put yourself into the right position before the contact.

How we teach

Skaters will be introduced to body contact and checking via small area drills and games. The progression of drills and games are designed to maximize the student’s time on and off the ice.

Expert NHL Level Instruction

Colton Orr

NHL – Forward

Colton played 11 seasons (496 Games) in the NHL with the Boston Bruins, New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs. His physicaly style of play quickly made him a favorite of fans and teammates alike.

Since retiring from the NHL in 2016, Colton has made it his mission to ensure players all skill levels are properly taught to use their body in all hockey situations to protect yourself, your oppenent and the game.

Nick Petrecki

NHL – Defenseman

Nick, a physical defenseman, was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the 1st Round (#28 overall pick) of 2007 NHL draft. Born in New York State, he played professional hockey for 7 years in the NHL, AHL and ECHL. As a pro, his leadership and charitable efforts earned him AHL Man of the Year honors (2 times) and the Yanick Dupre Memorial award.

Nick played Division 1 college hockey for Boston College (2007 Nation Championship) and was also a member of Team USA U17 and U18 teams. Since retiring he has coached the New Canaan High School Varsity team and various levels at the NC Winter Club.
